Like most employees in the world of work, educators and other professionals in the field of public education need an organization to defend our rights as public employees, salaries, work and working conditions.  West Valley-Mission Federation of Teachers/AFT Local 6554 is that organization. We not only defend our members, but our profession as educators, the institution where we work, and educational community (staff and students). We also defend the idea of education as a human right and public education that is accessible and affordable. Without our union we cannot hope to prevail as individuals in our aforementioned work.
